One more thing!

I went to wrap the poodle skirt and didn't have a box so.... I made a garment bag out of some white wrapping paper. I folded it over, taped down the shoulders, and laced up the sides!

First Birthday

Hey, what do you get a one year old for her birthday that she doesn't already have? A poodle skirt. Got a wild hair this week. Didn't have a lot of money to spend so....... This outfit cost $2 for the shirt, 33 cents for ribbon and $2 for elastic. Not bad for less than $5. I decided that since I couldn't find a snap-bottom t-shirt, I made bloomers. I designed the poodle on the computer and embroidered it then appliqued it on the skirt. Then for fun, I put her initials on the back of the bloomers. Hope her mom likes it!!!!!

Project Linus

Last week Malinda and I made blankets for our local Project Linus one day blanket drive. Malinda and 2 of her friends made blankets out of fleece and sewed a satin binding on it. My quilt was a top that has been looking for a home for a WHILE! I pieced together the back and serged the edge. We took them to Panama to drop them off. We were entered into a drawing for a new sewing machine! We didn't get the machine. Guess we will just have to keep using the 4 machines that we have!!!!

Christmas Project

Each year at church we put together a small gift for the widows and the shut-ins. This year I was in charge. I have a very cute cooler that looks like a beach bag. I tried to find something like that to use this year. I found the bargain of the year. Reef bags! They came in 3 colors. Brown, tan, and hot pink. The price said $3.99 but when I got to the check-out line they were only $3.19. I made bows for them and the ladies at church collected items to go in them.
I loved what we put in them. We had: Winter paper plates & napkins, candy dish, hard candy, gum, coffee mug and small coffee, puzzle book, magnetic notepad, pen, chapstick, and 2 year planner. Unfortunately we had 3 new widows this year. A women and her daughter-in-law, and my mother-in-law. Although these women are not "in-need", it is nice that we can give them a token of our love!

Baby Shower

My good friend is having a baby next week (she hopes). We are having a shower for them tomorrow. I made 2 blankets from flannel and crocheted an edge around them both. I have had these done for over 2 weeks! I put them in a gift bag that I customized to look like a t-shirt. I got that idea from SCS. They don't know if it's a boy or girl but I went with boy. I had a dream the other day that I had forgotten to take the present to the shower and when I got there, everyone else had flannel blankets with edging on them! Go figure.

Nieces Christmas Ornaments

I was feeling froggy so I made some ornaments to send to my nieces at college. These are the backs of the ones for Cupcake. I couldn't stand it. I had to show them off. This was an original idea. Surprise, surprise! I bought a puzzle at the Dollar Tree and embellished them with junk we have at the house. Can't wait to get them sent out next week.
